Gidi is about to return from injury, and an All-Star-level reinforcement will be coming back.

Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan officially announced that starting guard Josh Giddey, who has been sidelined for a long time due to a left hamstring strain, is making good progress in his recovery and is very likely to make his return to the court in Thursday's key game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Looking back at the injury, Gidi suffered the injury on December 31st last year during a game against the New Orleans Pelicans. He limped off the court just one minute into the second half and began a three-week rehabilitation period, missing 11 consecutive games as a result.

Donovan gave very positive feedback on the progress of his comeback in a media interview. He said that Gidi is currently feeling quite well, and most importantly, there have been no signs of recurrence or regression of his injury throughout the entire rehabilitation process.

The final hurdle for Gidis' return is awaiting the medical team's decision on his condition. His return is a godsend for the Bulls, who are currently in a crucial period of competition in the Eastern Conference.

Before his injury, Gidi displayed All-Star caliber dominance. Statistically, he averaged a team-high 19.2 points per game, along with 8.9 rebounds and 9 assists, nearly achieving a triple-double. This season alone, he has recorded seven triple-doubles, making him an indispensable engine for the team's offense.

The Chicago Bulls currently sit ninth in the Eastern Conference with a 21-22 record, locked in fierce competition for the play-in tournament. With another key player, forward Patrick Williams, recently listed as day-to-day due to a right ankle sprain, a return for Gideon would not only fill the roster gap but also significantly alleviate the team's pressure on both ends of the court.
