Bayern Munich midfielder Musiala said in an interview that he will give himself enough time to recover from his injury and hopes to return to the field before the end of 2025.

In the 2024/25 Bundesliga season, Musiala played 25 games for Bayern Munich, contributed 12 goals and two assists, and eventually helped Kompany's team win the Bundesliga championship.

However, in the Club World Cup in July, Musiala collided with the opposing goalkeeper Donnarumma in the game against Paris Saint-Germain, resulting in a fibula fracture and a dislocated ankle, so he will need a longer recovery time to return to the team.

"My foot is fine and everything is going according to plan," said the 22-year-old. "I don't need crutches anymore, but I don't want to rush things. I'll try to give myself enough time."

"Mentally, the first few weeks weren't easy for me, but if I kept dwelling on it, it wouldn't have helped. I just want to focus on other things now and use this time to do things that I wouldn't normally have time to do. That way, time will pass faster until I can get back on the court."

"You never know what the recovery process will be like. Sometimes everything is fine, and then it can be stagnant for three days. I'm going to take it slow and I don't want to set a specific date for my return right now."

Musiala also said: "Based on the current progress, I think I still have the opportunity to play an official game for Bayern Munich in 2025. When I return to the field, I hope I will be fully prepared."

After defeating Augsburg 3-2 in the last round of the league, Bayern Munich is currently ranked first in the standings. After this international match day, Bayern Munich will host newly promoted Hamburg at home in the next round.
