The 25-year-old Grimes scored 20 or more points in 23 games last season, 16 of which came after joining the Philadelphia 76ers. He also recorded his first career double-double with the Philadelphia 76ers and achieved it four times in total.
In March, Grimes reached his peak form, averaging 26.6 points in 14 games, shooting over 50% from the field, with nearly five assists and two steals. On March 17th, against the Houston Rockets in his hometown of Houston, he scored a career-high 46 points, also contributing more than 10 rebounds and making five three-pointers, becoming the first player in franchise history to achieve this statistic.
Since entering the NBA with the 25th pick in the first round of the 2021 draft, Grimes has played for the New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers. In 243 regular season games, he averaged 10.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, while maintaining a 44.4% shooting percentage and a 37.5% three-point shooting percentage.
