The Polish national team announced on Thursday that Michał Probiezh, 52, will no longer serve as head coach. It is not yet known who will take over as Probiezh's successor.

Probiezh has been a coach since 2005 and has coached many Polish clubs and the U21 national team, including Bytom Polska, Łódź Wizew, Bialystok Jagiellon, Łódź, Aris, Wisla Krakow, Belchatów, Gdansk Legia, Krakow, Brukbet Malikanassa, etc. He took over the Polish national team in September 2023 and has led the team to a record of 10 wins, 4 draws and 7 losses so far.

During his time as the national team coach, Probiez had a strained relationship with Poland's top star Robert Lewandowski. Earlier this week, he removed Lewandowski from the captaincy without any communication and replaced him with Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski. Lewandowski then posted a message confirming that he would not play for Poland before Probiez was fired. Because of this, Probiez's departure was also seen as a "victory" for Lewandowski.

In his resignation statement, Probiezh said: "In the current situation, I have come to the conclusion that the best decision for the benefit of the national team is to resign as head coach. Coaching the national team is a dream come true for my career and the greatest honor of my life."
