The first leg of the 2025/26 EFL Cup semi-final will see Chelsea host Premier League leaders Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea striker Liam Delap has described Rossenier as a kind and frank manager who directly points out where players need to improve.
Chelsea thrashed Charlton 5-1 in the earlier FA Cup third round match, thanks to goals from Jorel Hatto, Adarabioyo, Giou, Pedro Neto and Enzo. This was also the first match in charge of Chelsea by new manager Rossenier.
It's worth mentioning that Liam Delap was previously coached by Rossellini when he played for Hull City.
In an interview, Liam Delap said, "Rossaniel is a very good manager and a very good person. I worked with him for a year, and I think his philosophy, his approach to football, and his understanding of the game will be very suitable for us and will help us. Especially for me, and for many of the young players he coached at Hull City, he really helped us improve, and now everyone is doing very well."
“I really like his coaching style, and he is a very friendly person, but sometimes he can be very direct and blunt. I think that's a necessary quality for a head coach. He tells the team why they didn't get playing time, tells the players what they need to improve, and also clearly points out what they did well.”
Liam Delap continued, "He is very honest, and if you build a relationship of trust with him and his coaching staff, it is very helpful for the development of the player, and Rosseneil's frankness is really important. The season before I worked with him, I did not play very well because the transition from the youth system to the first team is really difficult."
“But Rossenier is one of the managers who has helped me the most, especially in the transition process. I am very grateful for that. He and his coaching staff have given me a lot of support, and I have grown a lot under him. I hope to continue to do that at Chelsea.”
In addition, Liam Delap has scored one goal for Chelsea in the Premier League and one goal in the Champions League so far this season.
When discussing his personal performance, Liam Delap said, "The beginning of the season wasn't easy for me, and injuries had a big impact. When you join a new club, it's really tough if you can't find your rhythm quickly."
"But after playing one game after another, I feel that my physical condition is getting better and better, and I am more and more confident. I hope to continue to contribute to the team in the future."
