Liam Delap has only participated in a few training sessions as a Chelsea player, but he has already been impressed by the team's strength. The 22-year-old striker joined Chelsea this summer after performing well at Ipswich. During his time at Ipswich, he played 37 Premier League games for the team, which was in the relegation zone for most of the season, and contributed 12 goals.  

Now Liam Delap has had his first chance to watch his new team-mates in action, completing his fifth training session as a Chelsea player in Philadelphia on Saturday ahead of the club’s first FIFA Club World Cup match against Los Angeles Football Club.  

Liam Delap said: "I was impressed by everyone's performance. The overall quality was really high. We just got off the plane and felt okay. It didn't have much of an impact. After all, it was only my first few games. It depends on who performs best next time."  

Although Liam Delap has traveled to the United States for preseason games before, he is still very happy that this is his first time in Philadelphia.  

He has undoubtedly helped his adaptation process by meeting many of his former Chelsea coaches and City team-mates, including his former national under-23 coach Enzo Maresca, as well as the likes of Cole Palmer and Romeo Lavia, who won the Premier League Under-23 title together under the Italian manager.  

"It's a great feeling to be here. As a new player, it's very important to learn, connect with your teammates and develop good relationships because it's a new club. It's really fun to be here and get close to everyone."  

Liam Delap continued: "I know my goal here is to score goals and do my best to help the team win. The coaching staff has clear requirements for the style of play, and my task is to learn and clarify my position in the team."  

The striker also expressed his feelings to Chelsea fans: "I am very happy to join the team. It's really exciting and I can't wait to see everyone at Stamford Bridge."
