Despite only being at Chelsea for two months, Liam Delap has already shown impressive form. The 22-year-old striker, who joined from Ipswich Town just before the Club World Cup, came off the bench to set up Enzo Fernandes' debut against Los Angeles FC and then scored the opening goal in a 3-0 win over ES Tunisia.  

At the end of the tournament, Chelsea secured the trophy with a resounding victory over Paris Saint-Germain. Liam Delap once again impressed as a substitute, creating two dangerous strikes in the second half and quickly earning the supporters' approval. His performance was witnessed by the Stamford Bridge crowd, and the team continued its winning streak during the Malta Tourism Weekend.  

The striker showed off his speed, power and finishing ability in matches against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, particularly in the second match, where he converted a penalty in front of the Matthew Harding Stand and then found the net with an instinctive first-time shot.  

Liam Delap said: “It was a fantastic feeling to score my first two goals at Stamford Bridge. As a striker, my only thought on the pitch is the game itself, and it’s always exciting to leave the field with a goal. I’ve quickly got into the game and it’s been a fantastic two months.”

The Club World Cup means a lot to me because we spent a lot of time together during that time. It allowed me to better connect with my teammates and benefited me a lot. I cherish this experience very much and am full of expectations for future developments."

Liam Delap is confident the team has what it takes to continue their impressive form from last season and embark on a new Premier League campaign. He said: "Our preparations are going well and we can approach Crystal Palace with confidence and anticipation."
