Liverpool youngster Owen Beck completes contract extension and joins Derby County on-loan..

Liverpool announced on its official website on Monday that young Welsh international left-wing back Owen Beck has signed a new contract with the club and has joined Derby County on-loan.

According to Liverpool's official statement, Beck has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029. Furthermore, his loan agreement does not include a buyout clause.

This will be Beck's second consecutive year working with Derby County manager John Eustace; the two also worked together at Blackburn Rovers last season.

After completing his joining procedures, Beck, who was interviewed by the Derby County official website for the first time, said: "Obviously, I've known the manager since last year. I spoke to him about my previous experience working with him. It went very quickly and was a no-brainer for me."

"We've developed a really good relationship. I feel like he brings the best out of me. When he called me and we spoke again about wanting to bring me in, it was a no-brainer!"

"I've really enjoyed playing under him. As I said, I feel like he brings the best out of me. I feel like he can get more out of me this season and I can take a step forward."

"The Championship is a very tough league with a lot of strong players. There are no easy games in the league. It was great for me to be able to play at this level every week last season. I feel like I had a good season. I feel like I can take a step forward and show everyone what I'm really capable of."

"I I think the most important thing is to do my offensive and defensive work well. I think they're equally important. Defensively, I like to win one-on-one duels and always have the upper hand.

Offensively, I like to score goals and provide assists. This will be one of my main goals this year, ensuring I succeed in that area. I feel I can definitely improve on last year's performance in that area.

"First and foremost, I want to play. I want to play and stay injury-free. I set personal goals for myself during matches. Furthermore, I believe the manager has goals he wants the team to achieve. Hopefully, I can achieve my personal goals and help the team achieve theirs."

That same year, Beck also won the Lancashire Senior Cup with the U23s team.

From the summer of 2022, Beck was loaned-out to Famalicao and then Bolton Wanderers, but his appearances were infrequent.

In July of the following year, Beck was loaned-out to Dundee United, where he impressed in the first half of the season and became one of the Scottish Premiership's best players.

In January 2024, Beck was temporarily recalled due to injury issues at Liverpool, and completed his Premier League debut by coming on as a substitute in the Premier League match against Bournemouth that same month.

On January 30 of the same year, Beck was loaned back to Dundee United.

During this spell, Beck continued his outstanding performances and was selected into the Scottish Premiership Team of the Year after the end of the season.

In August 2024, Beck joined Blackburn Rovers on-loan.

Last season, Beck played 25 times for the EFL Championship club in all competitions and scored 1 goal.
