Fulham will host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the 10th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. Marco Silva stated that the team's mindset is the same regardless of the opponent's ranking in the standings, and insisted that his team will do everything in their power to secure three points.
After Sasha Lukic scored in the last round of the Premier League, Fulham ultimately lost 1-2 to Newcastle. Following their fourth consecutive defeat, Fulham currently sits in 17th place in the standings with 8 points.
However, in the earlier English League Cup, Fulham defeated Wycombe 5-4 on penalties after Josh King scored, advancing to the quarterfinals and restoring the players' confidence.
As for their upcoming match against Wolves, Vitor Pereira's team is currently 20th in the standings with 2 points and has yet to win a game.
Fulham manager Marco Silva said at a press conference, "It's too early to talk about a must-win game. For us, every game is prepared to be won, and this game is no different."
“When preparing for a match, we don’t focus on our opponents’ rankings. We don’t think that they’re in this position, so we have to win, or that they’re in that position, so we can’t win. We’ve never thought like that. That’s been our attitude since I joined the club.”
Marco Silva emphasized, "But if it comes to a certain stage of the season, and depending on the goals the team is competing for, such as against direct rivals, then it can be said that it's a must-win game. However, right now it's just a home game, and we lost our last away game, so we hope to win this game, it's that simple. We will give it our all, and we know that if we want to win, we must perform at a very high level."
"We also need to avoid the mistakes that have cost us in recent games. The fans are equally important, and we need to keep them with us, just like they have at Craven Cottage and away. This is a game we will give our all to win, I'm 100% sure."
