Sevilla coach Matías Almeida said in a pre-match press conference at the San Mamés Stadium that he would give his all against Athletic Bilbao and that he was confident his team could achieve a good result. This was also Matías Almeida's first interview with the media in a league match.  

"From day one, we've been training with the same passion and attitude," Matías Almeida said at a press conference. "It makes no difference to me whether it's a friendly or a competitive match. I still have hopes and dreams."  

"This week has been very meaningful for me, with both the joy of taking on the role of club head coach and the pain of losing a loved one far away. It's a complex mix of emotions. Today marks the start of a dream, and we will focus on achieving our set goals. Our pre-season performance has been satisfactory, the players are in good shape, and the upcoming game against Athletic Bilbao will be a great start for us."  

Regarding the registration issue, Matías Almeida admitted: "Many teams face similar challenges, but I want to emphasize that there are no excuses. I am focused on my goal. There is a proverb in Sevilla, which is never to give up. I agree with it. I understand the current situation. Although I hope everyone can play, this is by no means an excuse."  

"We are fully preparing for a long tournament and will give our all, respecting the strong opponents we will face and having the confidence and desire to achieve excellent results. I am focused on my own responsibilities and will not be distracted by irrelevant things. I understand that our club is not the only one facing a similar situation and that few clubs can have all the players. I will not make excuses or make irrelevant remarks."  

"They have been honest with me since our first meeting. I know why I came here and what I believe in. I will stick to my original intention with full passion and will never give up easily. Although the process is difficult, we will work hard to make everything go smoothly and lead the team to win back the support of the fans."  

"I have great respect for Athletic Bilbao. I rarely talk about my opponents because I respect them and want to beat every team. They have an excellent coach, a strong squad and a systematic training system, and they also showed great performances in pre-season."  

"We have great players and a passionate new coach. We will respect our opponents' strengths while trying to exploit their weaknesses. Hopefully, we can do that and our opponents will be equally motivated. Both sides are eager to achieve great results. I won't limit myself to a single tactical system, but at least I will try to experiment with a variety of styles."  

"We've developed a completely new training program that's two to three times more intense, including gym work. Adjusting our training methods does carry the risk of injury because our data differs from other situations. While there's a risk, the number of injuries we've had is low, which is reasonable given the high intensity of training. Some players have been injured at other times, which is why we're focusing on future planning."  

"Finally, I always respect the fans' voice. We all have the right to express our opinions. I am a fan first and a player second. The fans want to win, and our responsibility is to satisfy them and get extra motivation from it. I hope we can turn the situation around as soon as possible, because only when we are united can we become stronger."
