Liverpool officially announced the signing of Eintracht Frankfurt's France international forward Hugo Ekitike..

Liverpool announced on its official website on Wednesday that the club has officially signed France international forward Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to Liverpool's official statement, Ekitike has signed on a long-term six-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2031.

As reported earlier, Ekitike is currently on his way to Hong Kong for a pre-season friendly match, so he will officially debut as a new player for the defending Premier League champions in front of local fans at that time.

In addition, since Liverpool's jersey sponsorship contract with Nike will not expire until August 1, Ekitike will temporarily wear a vacant reserve player jersey number like other new players who joined the team this season, Florian Wirtz, Jeremy Frimpong, Milos Kerkez, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Freddie Woodman.

The official jersey numbers of the new players will not be announced until August 1. From now on, fans can also inquire about the pre-order details of the new season jerseys from the stores of the new jersey sponsor Adidas.

About Hugo Ekitike

Ekitike, 23, was born in Reims, France on June 20, 2002. He is 1.9 meters tall and plays as a striker. He has dual nationality of France and Cameroon.

Ekitike played for the youth academy of the non-league club Cormontreuil when he was a child. In 2013, he joined the youth academy of his hometown club Reims and made his debut Reims first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in October 2020.

In January of the following year, Ekitike was loaned-out to Vejle.

After returning to the club following the end of his loan spell in the summer of the same year, Ekitike quickly attracted the attention of Newcastle United with his high scoring efficiency.

In July 2022, Ekitike joined Paris Saint-Germain on-loan with a obligation to buy for 35 million. During which, he won the Ligue 1 once with the club.

On the 2024 winter transfer window's deadline day, Ekitike joined Eintracht Frankfurt on-loan with an option to buy, and his ownership was officially bought out two months later.

During his one-and-half-year spell with Die Adler, Ekitike has played 64 times for the Bundesliga side in all competitions, scoring 26 goals, providing 14 assists and has reached the DFB-Pokal round of 16s twice and the Europa League quarter-finals once with the club.
