P.J. Tucker updated his social media on Wednesday, confirming that he has no plans to retire for the time being.

According to Athlon Sports, the 40-year-old P.J. Tucker announced his retirement soon. However, the player denied the report through social media: "Since we live in an era where people never check facts and only forward unidentified information, I have to take time out during my vacation to clarify the facts so that you don't keep sending me those nonsense."

He added: "I have never mentioned retirement, nor have I sent any relevant signals... I am only 40 years old, healthy and in good shape. I am fully capable of continuing to compete on the court, and I will continue to devote myself to the basketball sport that I love all my life."

P.J. Tucker mainly plays as a forward and was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 35th pick in the second round in June 2006. He then moved to the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Miami Heat, Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Clippers and other teams, and won his first NBA championship with the Bucks in 2021.

In March 2025, P.J. Tucker successfully became a regular after signing two 10-day short contracts. He signed a two-year formal contract with the New York Knicks, including a team option worth $3.5 million for the 2025/26 season.

According to ESPN data, P.J. Tucker played only three regular season games in the 2024/25 season, averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.
