According to an exclusive report by Italian transfer reporter Alfredo Pedula on Wednesday, Jonathan David and Darwin Nunez are Napoli's main candidates to strengthen their forward line this summer.

Jonathan David, 25, made his debut in Gent's youth training and transferred to Lille for 27 million euros in August 2020. To date, he has made 230 appearances in Lille, contributing 109 goals and 30 assists, and won the French Ligue 1 championship and the French Super Cup with the team.

Jonathan David's contract with Lille will expire this summer. According to Pedulla, Napoli has contacted him. Although Jonathan David's agent is asking for a high price, Napoli still hopes to add additional clauses to the contract to facilitate the deal.

However, Napoli will face a very fierce competition. In addition to Napoli, Inter Milan, Juventus and other teams are also interested in signing Jonathan David.

Darwin Nunez is another popular candidate for Napoli's forward line. The 25-year-old Nunez came from the youth training of Peñarol and made his debut for the first team in the Uruguayan League on November 22, 2017. He then played for Almeria and Benfica, and joined Liverpool for 85 million euros in July 2022.

So far, Nunez has played 140 games for Liverpool, scored 40 goals and provided 26 assists, and won the Premier League, English League Cup and Community Shield championships once each with the team.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Nunez is expected to leave Liverpool this summer. His contract with Liverpool is valid until 2028 and his value is about 50 million to 55 million euros.
