Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo is considering the possibility of leaving the team for the first time in his career, ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Monday.

Antetokounmpo played 67 regular season games this season, averaging 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists in 34.2 minutes per game, shooting 60.1% and 22.2% from three-point range. He continued to perform at a high level in the playoffs, averaging 33.0 points, 15.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game, shooting 60.6% and 20.0% from three-point range. Despite this, the Bucks were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers 4-1, and were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the third consecutive year.

As the Bucks missed the Eastern Conference semifinals again, Antetokounmpo's future is full of suspense. The 30-year-old has achieved a grand slam in personal honors since joining the Bucks as the 15th pick in the first round in 2013. However, Antetokounmpo is not satisfied with the only championship he won in 2021. He has repeatedly expressed his hope to win more championships in his career.

Last month, Antetokounmpo reiterated his desire to win a championship when he participated in his brother Thanasis's podcast "Thanalysis Show". He said at the time: "Even if I don't win a second championship, people may look back on my career and say, 'Oh, incredible career, first-round selection in the Hall of Fame, etc.' But in terms of my personal goals, if I can't help the team win a second championship, I will feel that I have failed myself."

Charanie went on to point out that Antetokounmpo's agents, Georgios Panou and Alex Sarathis, are expected to meet with the Bucks management during the offseason to discuss the future of both parties and the team's development plan.
