According to a report by TA reporter Joe Vardon on Thursday, the Los Angeles Clippers are expected to re-sign President of Basketball Operations Lawrence Frank. Barring unforeseen circumstances, Frank is expected to remain in his position for the foreseeable future.

Frank, 55, has worked for the Clippers since 2014, serving as an assistant coach and executive vice president of basketball operations. He succeeded Doc Rivers as president of basketball operations in August 2017 and was named NBA Executive of the Year in 2020.

This summer, under Frank's leadership, the Clippers acquired Chris Paul, Brook Lopez, John Collins, and Bradley Beal. However, the arrival of these new players has failed to immediately improve the Clippers' competitiveness. They had suffered a five-game losing streak before their 115-92 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, and were second-to-last in the Western Conference with a 6-16 record.

Amid the team's poor performance, the news that the Clippers had prematurely released Paul from his contract in the middle of the night immediately caused a huge uproar. In response, Frank released a statement to The TA saying, "Chris is a Clippers legend with an illustrious career. I want to make one thing clear: the team's poor record is absolutely not Chris's fault. I take responsibility for our current performance. The team has many problems, and we will address them one by one. We are very grateful for Chris's contributions to the team."

Despite the team's recent crisis, the Clippers' management stability appears unaffected. Joe Varden explicitly stated that Lawrence Frank is about to receive a contract extension from the Clippers: "Multiple informed league sources have revealed that contract extension negotiations between Frank and his team are progressing smoothly. One source said that the extension plan has been in the works for some time. Although it is not yet officially finalized, it will eventually be implemented."
