Aston Villa have officially signed Swedish international Victor Lindelof. The national team captain previously played for Manchester United and left the club at the end of last season. He has now made 71 appearances for Sweden.  

Victor Lindelof is a defender with extensive experience and versatile skills. He played for Manchester United for eight years, winning the League Cup and FA Cup. He began his career in Sweden before winning honours with Benfica in Portugal.  

After completing his signing with Aston Villa on deadline day, Victor Lindelof expressed his excitement about joining the team. He revealed that when he learned that Aston Villa was interested in him, he immediately wanted to transfer and hoped to use his rich Premier League experience to help the team.  

"I'm very excited to be joining such a big club," Victor Lindelof said in his first interview. "When I found out they wanted to sign me, I was very excited."  

"After careful consultation with my wife, I believe this is a decision that will benefit both my family and my career. With my many years of experience in the Premier League, I am very familiar with the environment and operations here. I hope to use my experience to support the development of young players while bringing the abilities I have demonstrated in my games to the team. I feel very honored and excited to be a part of this football club."  

Victor Lindelof said of his first conversation with Unai Emery: "We had an in-depth discussion a few days ago about football and his opinion of me as a player and the value I can bring to the team.  

“That was one of the key reasons I decided to join after that conversation. Our conversation went really well and I’m really looking forward to playing under his guidance. The fans always create a great atmosphere when we play at Villa Park. It’s very special to be here and feel their support, so I’m looking forward to it.”  

“This team is excellent in possession and very organized. I think every player knows their role on the pitch, which is exactly what the coach expects from his players. The level here is very high, and I can’t wait to do my part to further improve the team’s performance.”
