Ganacho: We will try our best to win the FA Cup.

Chelsea secured a 4-2 victory over Wrexham in the fifth round of the 2025/26 FA Cup, thanks to goals from Josh Achampong, Ganacho, and João Pedro. Ganacho stated that he and the team were proud of the win and would continue to strive for titles.

In the 18th minute, Callum Doyle played a long pass to Sam Smith, who then entered the penalty area and fired a low shot into the net, giving Wrexham a 1-0 lead. In the 40th minute, Liam Delap played a through ball to Ganacho, who unleashed a shot that was deflected by an opposing player before hitting Wrexham goalkeeper Okonkwo and into the net, leveling the score at 1-1 for Chelsea.

In the 78th minute of the second half, Wrexham's corner kick was cleared, and Josh Windas unleashed a long-range shot from outside the box. The ball deflected off Callum Doyle and into the net, giving Wrexham a 2-1 lead over Chelsea. In the 82nd minute, Andre Santos played a through ball to Josh Achampong in the box, who slotted it home to level the score at 2-2 for Chelsea.

In the 96th minute of extra time, Dario Essugo received the ball and chipped it into the penalty area, where Ganacho volleyed it into the net, giving Chelsea a 3-2 lead over Wrexham. In stoppage time, Dario Essugo passed the ball to João Pedro, who received it and slotted it home to seal a 4-2 victory for Chelsea.

Chelsea ultimately defeated Wrexham 4-2 away from home, successfully advancing to the quarterfinals.

Garnacho, who helped Chelsea advance, said, "It was an incredible victory, and I think it was one of the toughest games we've had so far this season. It was a real battle, and when you come to a game like this, it always turns into a tough fight, sometimes even tougher than the Premier League."

“In a game like this, you have to be prepared for anything. We have to be ready for every moment, and it gets even more difficult when the game goes into overtime, but we persevered. We are very proud to have advanced to the next round.”

Ganacho continued, "In football, a team needs a complete squad to win a championship because we play a game every three days. We have to trust everyone, and we have many excellent players. Now that we've reached the quarterfinals, we will strive to win the FA Cup, and it's always wonderful to win a trophy."

On the other hand, the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 will take place, with Chelsea traveling to the Parc des Princes to challenge French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

Ganacho stated, "Right now, we'll focus on recovery and prepare for the next game. We have a winning team, so we'll work hard to achieve that."
