The 2025 Club World Cup quarter-finals will be a highlight, with Chelsea heading to Lincoln Financial Field to challenge Palmeiras. Colville said that both new and veteran players must play for the team with the mentality of pursuing victory in every game.
In the round of 16, Chelsea relied on goals from Reece James, Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Diewsbury Hall to eventually eliminate Benfica 4-1 and successfully secured a ticket to the quarterfinals.
In addition, Chelsea have previously signed Liam Delap, Essugo and Mamadou Sarr, and recently signed Joao Pedro.
“We have to know how big this club is and the culture here has always been about winning games,” said Colville, who won the UEFA European Association League with Chelsea in the 2024/25 season. “We are trying to convey that awareness to the young players and the new players who are coming in, that this club is only for winners.”
"That's what we want to do together, that's what we need to work on and strive for together. Anyone who comes to Chelsea knows the history of this club and they know they come here to win."
Colville also said, "We have an excellent team and everyone's goal is to work hard to win. The fans are of course the key factor. We can feel their power when we play on the court. We know what they want, that is victory, and they will not let us forget this."
"The fans will continue to inspire us to move forward and win more trophies for the club, and they are the ones who can best remind us of the great past of this club."
