Bournemouth Football Club is pleased to announce that Marcus Tavernier has signed a new contract with the club, which runs until 2029. The 26-year-old midfielder has made 93 appearances for the club in all competitions since joining in the summer of 2022.  

Among his most dazzling moments was his 25-yard winner against Fulham in April 2023, and his stunning strike away to Southampton last season, which propelled Bournemouth up to fifth in the Premier League and extended their unbeaten run in the top flight.  

Marcus Tavernier scored the winning goal against Wolves in their recent match, giving Bournemouth their first win of the 2025-26 season with a 1-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium. This goal also marked the official start of his scoring account for the new season.  

After the contract extension was completed, Bournemouth's President of Football Operations, Thiago Pinto, expressed his satisfaction and expectations. He said: "Marcus Tavernier is a player who will give his all whenever he puts on the jersey. We value our partnership with him very much."  

"He is highly respected in the dressing room and I look forward to him continuing to provide leadership at Bournemouth in the coming seasons, as the Premier League remains a very competitive and challenging place."  

After completing the contract extension, Marcus Tavernier said: "I sincerely thank Bournemouth for their support and trust in me over the past few years. I am delighted that the club has recognized my performance and extended my contract, allowing me to continue to stay in this team that has given me so much."
