In the 27th minute, Aiden Haven dispossessed Hwang Hee-chan and cut inside from the right wing, but was intercepted by Radyslav Krejci just outside the penalty area. The ball then fell to Joshua Zirkzee, who turned and evaded Doherty before his shot deflected into the net, giving Manchester United a 1-0 lead.

After conceding a goal, Wolves were on the back foot, while Manchester United continued to control the game. In the 33rd minute, Dolgu delivered a cross from the left wing at a 45-degree angle, and Seshko's header was easily saved by José Sá. In the 38th minute, Zirkzee passed the ball from midfield to the left wing, and Dolgu broke into the penalty area before unleashing a powerful shot that went just wide. Luke Shaw then took a corner from the right, and Seshko's header at the far post hit the left post.

In the 41st minute, Wolves gradually stabilized after escaping several dangerous situations. First, Tolu Arrokodare delivered a through ball into the penalty area, but Hugo Bueno's follow-up shot was saved by Sena Lamenz. Matthäus Mane then unleashed a long-range shot, which was also caught by Lamenz.

In the 45th minute, Zirkzee provided an own-goal assist during a Wolves corner kick, allowing Krejci to head the ball into the net. Wolves thus equalized, bringing the two sides back to level terms.

In the 90th minute, Seshko's shot from the right side of the penalty area was saved by José Sá, but Dolgu quickly followed up and scored on the rebound. However, the linesman immediately raised his flag to indicate that Dolgu was offside before the goal, and the two sides ultimately drew 1-1.
