Italian Cup – Bony and Diouf score in quick succession as Inter Milan defeat Torino 2-1 to advance to the semi-finals.


In the 2025/26 Coppa Italia quarter-final, Inter Milan faced Torino at the Brianteo Stadium in Monza. They ultimately defeated their opponents 2-1, advancing to the semi-finals.


Inter Milan took the initiative early in the first half. In the 5th minute, Henrique Mkhitaryan delivered a diagonal pass, and Angelo-Yoan Bony's shot inside the penalty area was saved by Alberto Pareri. In the 20th minute, Carlos Augusto unleashed a long-range shot from the edge of the box, but the ball struck the crossbar and bounced out of play.


In the 35th minute, Isiah Kamat delivered a precise cross from the right wing to Bony in the penalty area, who headed the ball into the net to give Inter Milan the lead. Just two minutes into the second half, Inter Milan extended their lead: Marcus Thuram crossed from the right side of the penalty area, and Andy Diouf followed up with a tap-in to easily score.


After taking a two-goal lead, Inter Milan tried to control the tempo of the game, but Torino seized the opportunity to launch a counter-attack. In the 50th minute, Saul Coco assisted Aliou Nguil's low shot amidst the chaos, which was saved by Josep Martinez. In the 51st minute, Nguil broke into the left side of the penalty area and backheeled the ball to Nikola Vlasic, whose shot went just wide. In the 52nd minute, Vlasic crossed from the left, and Adrian Tameze's shot from the edge of the box was caught by Martinez. In the 57th minute, Sandro Kulenovic headed in a cross from the right, pulling one back for Torino.


In the 74th minute, Matteo Prati headed in a goal from a set piece, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Neither side managed to score again, and Inter Milan ultimately won 2-1 away from home.
