Genoa officially completes the signing of Feyenoord's Netherlands international goalkeeper Justin Bijlow..

Genoa announced on their official website on Tuesday that the club have signed Netherlands international goalkeeper Justin Bijlow from Feyenoord.

According to Genoa's official statement, Bijlow has signed on a short-term contract that will only run until the end of the season. If Genoa avoids relegation, his contract will be automatically extended for three years, until the summer of 2029. Bijlow will wear the number 16 jersey.

Furthermore, according to Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Il Grifone paid Feyenoord a transfer fee of €1.5 million to sign Bijlow.

The player fell out of favour two years ago, refused to renew his expiring contract this summer, and, in order to maintain his hopes of being selected for this summer's Netherlands World Cup squad, Bijlow resolutely decided to take on a new challenge and play in the Serie A.

It's worth mentioning that this transfer will also completely shatter the fake rumours that our website's resident Chinese "Daily Slap in the Face Party" representative Dong Qiu Di, whom almost annually claimed at least once every year that Bijlow will join Arsenal or Liverpool.

(Besides, De Telegraaf has never published the report which mentioned these as Dong Qiu Di clamed to have done so)

About Justin Bijlow

The 25 years old Bijlow, was born on January 22, 1998, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He is 1.88 meters tall and plays as a goalkeeper.

Bijlow joined Feyenoord's youth academy at a young age and completed his Feyenoord first-team debut in August 2017.

After his debut, Bijlow quickly became the undisputed first-team goalkeeper thanks to his outstanding performances. His rise to prominence was even captured in a Disney+ Feyenoord documentary.

However, since the summer of 2024, due to being completely replaced all of sudden and plagued by intermittent injuries, Bijlow has completely lost his place in the team.

During his 20-year spell at Feyenoord, Bijlow made 152 appearances for the Rotterdam giants in all competitions, conceding 165 goals and keeping 55 clean sheets, where he helped the club win two Eredivisie titles, two KNVB Cup titles, two Johan Cruyff Shields (Dutch Super Cup), and reached the UEFA Conference League final once.
