Brentford announced on its official website on Sunday that the club has signed Burkina Faso international winger Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth for a club-record transfer fee.
According to Brentford's official statement, Ouattara has signed on a long-term five-year deal which runs until the summer of 2030, with an option to extend for a further year. He will also wear the number 19 jersey, which was vacated by Brian Mbumo following his departure to Manchester United.
According to Sky Sports' renowned Italian transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Bees paid Bournemouth a total of £42.5 million to sign Ouattara.
About Dango Ouattara
Born on February 11, 2002, in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, the 23-year-old Ouattara is 1.77 meters tall and primarily plays as a left winger, but can also play as a right winger, left midfielder, right midfielder, left-wing back, and right-wing back.
Ouattara joined the youth academy of a top-flight club in Burkina Faso at a young age. He joined Lorient's reserve team in 2020 and completed his Lorient first-team debut by coming on as a substitute in August of the following year.
In January 2023, Ouattara joined Bournemouth for £20 million.
During his two-and-a-half-year spell with the Cherries, Ouattara made 88 appearances for the Premier League club in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists.
