Enzo Maresca stated that Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo is one of the world's top defensive midfielders. Caicedo previously demonstrated his crucial role again in the match against Tottenham Hotspur.  

There's no need to elaborate on Moises Caicedo's abilities; Chelsea fans, players, and staff all know it. Although his initial performances weren't particularly outstanding, the midfielder has been remarkably consistent in most matches.  

Moises Caicedo has demonstrated his all-around ability as a defensive midfielder in defensive positioning, passing, key goals, and tackling. What worries Premier League opponents even more is that at only 24 years old, he is still developing and his peak has yet to arrive.  

At Tottenham Hotspur's home ground, Moises Caicedo's outstanding performance helped Chelsea score the only goal of the game, ultimately securing a 1-0 victory for the team.  

First, Moises Caicedo tackled Jade Spence in the home team's half, then forced a back pass from Javi Simons while pressing him. Later, he successfully intercepted a pass from Mitch van der Wen on the edge of the Tottenham Hotspur penalty area and passed the ball to João Pedro, who finished with a comfortable goal.  

In the post-match press conference, when asked if he would use Moises Caicedo in exchange for other top European midfielders, Enzo Maresca said: "I think Moises Caicedo is showing his ability, he is a top player."
