Tottenham manager Thomas Frank reflected on his team's draw after the match

In the third round of the 2025-26 Champions League group stage, Tottenham drew 0-0 with Monaco away. Although their unbeaten record continued, coach Thomas Frank was not satisfied with the team's performance.

In the post-match interview, Frank admitted that the lack of intensity and concentration in the second half was the key factor in failing to win: "We are indeed learning how to face strong teams away from home in the Champions League. This game proved the strength of Monaco."

"We played well in the first half and the two sides were evenly matched. But in the second half, Monaco was better and we failed to play with the rhythm and aggression we should have."

Frank pointed out that the team lacked efficiency on the offensive end and made frequent passing errors: "We didn't play with the intensity we wanted, which put us in a passive position in the game. Compared to the high pressure and focus in the last game against Aston Villa, this game was obviously a step down."

However, Frank particularly praised goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario's outstanding performance. Facing numerous shots from Monaco, Vicario made nine crucial saves. Frank said: "Vic was outstanding tonight. Although we gave them too much space defensively, he was able to resolve the crisis time and time again."

Despite failing to win, Tottenham remain unbeaten in the Champions League. Frank believes this match was an important warning and learning opportunity: "It's normal to have ups and downs in form sometimes. We need to learn to maintain consistency even in the intensity of the Champions League."

"We didn't reach our ideal level today, but we were able to take away a point and a clean sheet on a not-so-ideal night, which is also worthy of recognition. We will learn from this and keep improving. The Champions League stage does not allow for complacency, and we must continue to grow."
