With two goals from Elliott, England U21 beat Netherlands U21 2-1 in the semi-finals of the 2025 European U21 Football Championship and successfully secured a ticket to the final. Lee Carsley said the team's performance was outstanding and continued to improve and grow.

In the 62nd minute of the second half, Elliott Anderson assisted Liverpool midfielder Elliott to score, giving England U21 a 1-0 lead. In the 72nd minute, Noah Ohio scored from outside the penalty area, equalizing the score for the Netherlands U21 at 1-1.

In the 85th minute, Elliott scored again, and England U21 finally defeated Netherlands U21 2-1, successfully advancing to the finals of the European U21 Football Championship for two consecutive years.

England U21 coach Lee Carsley said in an interview, "This team played very well and was full of energy at the beginning of the game, but we regretted not scoring a goal in the first half. In the second half, we showed real resilience and defended in the penalty area with all our strength, and goalkeeper James Beadle made some wonderful saves. We persisted until the last minute and finally won the victory."

"We knew it was going to be hot, so we specifically scheduled all training sessions during the hottest time of the day to prepare them for such a match. We never shied away from the heat, but instead exposed the players to the sun and even deliberately arranged for them to get used to the heat after training."

Lee Carsley also said, "Elliott and Charlie Cresswell didn't get much playing time in the last game, but we always knew how important they were, and they took the initiative to take the responsibility of inspiring the whole team. Elliott's performance was excellent, he was one of many players who stepped up. James McCarty was also very eye-catching, including Jay Stansfield."
