Gabriel Jesus recently stated that he has no intention of leaving Arsenal during the winter transfer window.
The 29-year-old Jesus previously played as a center forward for Palmeiras and Manchester City before transferring to Arsenal in July 2022 for €52.2 million. To date, he has made 96 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 26 goals and providing 20 assists.
However, Jesus has been sidelined since January due to a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. His starting position has been taken over by Victor Dzekereš, the Arsenal's €65.8 million signing from Sporting Lisbon.
With his tactical role becoming increasingly marginalized, rumors are circulating that Jesus may leave Arsenal in January. These rumors have intensified following Jesus' failure to be included in Arsenal's European squad for this season, despite the Brazilian's current contract running until 2027.
According to previous reports from British media, Jesus plans to return to the Brazilian Serie A. He believes this move will help him gain more attention from Brazilian national team coach Carlo Ancelotti before the 2026 World Cup.
Other reports indicate that Flamengo and Palmeiras are closely monitoring Jesus' situation. West Ham United and Everton have also made initial inquiries to Arsenal, who are open to a transfer.
In a recent interview with Brazilian media outlet Placar, Jesus firmly denied the rumors, stating, "I have just recovered from a complex surgery, and it would be unreasonable for me to leave Arsenal now."
“I have never been in contact with any other clubs. My wish is to return to Palmeiras, and Palmeiras welcomes my return. When I feel it is time to return to Palmeiras, I will make a decision together with Arsenal. However, right now I am just a player who has been out for nine months and is trying to get back into the team, and some journalists are making baseless comments.”
