According to veteran NBA reporter Michael Scotto's report on Wednesday, the Sacramento Kings have officially waived Terence Davis. The news was first disclosed by a league source and later confirmed by the NBA's official transaction log.

Davis had previously signed a non-guaranteed contract worth $2.547 million with the Kings, which would automatically become fully guaranteed in the first game of the regular season. The Kings chose to cut Davis before the start of the season in order to avoid the corresponding salary and free up roster spots.

Davis, 28, plays primarily as a guard and entered the NBA as an undrafted player in 2019. He initially played for the Toronto Raptors and was sent to the Sacramento Kings in 2021 in a trade involving a second-round draft pick.

All signs indicate that Davis has spent the best two and a half seasons of his career with the Kings. By November 2023, when he joined the Portland Trail Blazers' Development League team, Rip City Mix, he had played 121 regular-season games as a reserve for the Kings, averaging 8.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, while shooting 42.8% from the field and 35.8% from three-point range.

In April 2025, Davis returned to the Sacramento Kings from the Wisconsin Herd. He made a brief appearance for the Kings in the regular season finale, averaging 1.0 rebound and 1.0 assist in 8.0 minutes per game.

With Davis waived, the Kings' standard contract roster has been reduced to 14. This move will free up more room for the Kings to pursue rumored targets such as Jonathan Kuminga or Russell Westbrook.
