Manchester United will host West Ham at Old Trafford in the 14th round of the 2025/26 Premier League season. In an interview, Mount stated that he has loved watching football since childhood and even studies players' playing positions and movement.

Manchester United secured a 2-1 away victory against Crystal Palace in their last Premier League match, thanks to goals from Zirkzee and Mount. With two wins, two draws, and one loss in their last five games, United currently sit 9th in the table with 21 points.

Manchester United midfielder Mount said, "I've been watching football since I was a child. I watch the games and study them very seriously. I like to observe different positions, not just staring at the ball. I also like to see how the players move in their positions and what kind of positioning they choose on the field. I've been doing this since I was a child."

"So I think I have a deeper understanding of the game, but when I'm actually on the field, it can be very difficult sometimes because the pace of the game is as fast as 100 miles per hour. A lot of things can happen on the field, there are substitutes coming on, or the formation might be slightly adjusted, and the opponent's formation might be different from what I originally prepared."

Mount continued, "These are things that happen in a game, so you have to adapt. But I've always considered myself the kind of person who studies the game carefully, understands how we adjust and adapt if the opponent changes, and tries to communicate that to my teammates."

“I think the game has changed since my Premier League debut. The game now contains an extremely rich amount of detail, and the off-field analysis of the opponent is also very meticulous, including corner kicks, how to exploit the opponent's small weaknesses, or the setting of formations, etc.”

Mount added, "These small details often have a huge impact on the game, and you can see that the number of goals scored from set pieces is now far higher than in many past Premier League seasons."

"This shows that the team must be prepared for anything, because losing just one set piece could mean losing the game, so we must be ready at any time."
