At the start of the game, the Thunder quickly extended their lead to over 20 points. Dort was on fire in the first quarter, hitting all four of his three-point attempts for 12 points, helping the Thunder establish a commanding 49-24 lead. In the second quarter, the Thunder once widened the gap to 28 points, but the Pelicans narrowed the gap to just 13 points with 11 points from Murphy III hitting three three-pointers .
