Aston Villa announced on its official website on Tuesday that the club has officially signed Feyenoord's young Netherlands U19s international forward Zépiqueno Redmond.
According to Aston Villa's official statement, Redmond has signed on a long-term four-year deal with the club which runs until the summer of 2029.
Although Redmond, who left the club upon contract expiration this summer, joined the Villans as a free agent, because the player is under 21 years old, according to FIFA's transfer rules, the Premier League powerhouse must pay Feyenoord €2 million in youth training compensation fees.
About Zépiqueno Redmond
Redmond, who is only 19 years old, was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on June 22, 2006. He is 1.84 meters tall. He primarily plays as a center forward, but can also play as a left winger or a right winger. He has dual nationality of the Netherlands and Suriname.
Redmond joined the youth academy of non-league club CVV Zwevers at the age of 9, joined the youth academy of ADO Den Haag two years later, moved to Feyenoord's youth academy in 2019, and completed his Feyenoord first-team debut in November 2024.
During his time at Feyenoord, Redmond played 9 times for the Eredivisie giants in all competitions and scored 2 goals.
