Brentford B striker Ashley Hay has officially completed a permanent transfer to Dundee FC in the Scottish Premiership. The 21-year-old moved to Brentford from Hitchin Town in the summer of 2023 and played for the team for two years.
Ashley Hay scored 14 goals in 15 games in the first half of the 2024-25 season and performed very well. He was then loaned to Cheltenham, where he played 23 times in all competitions and contributed 3 goals.
The striker returned to Brentford B after the English League Two campaign and made three appearances for the west London side as they won the Professional Development League National Championship and also played in the Premier League Cup final.
Ashley Hay scored two hat-tricks for the B team, the first in a 6-1 away win over Charlton Athletic and then again in a 4-1 win over Queens Park Rangers at Wheatsheaf Park.
Hay will work with former Brentford head of player development Steven Pressley, who left Brentford at the end of last season and was appointed Dundee manager in June this year. Hay will also be reunited with Tony Yogane, who has been on loan at Dundee for a season.
Regarding Ashley Hay's transfer, Brentford B team assistant coach Sam Saunders said: "We are very happy that he has joined. As a player from a non-league team, his hard work and dedication every day deserves high praise."
"Since signing, Ashley Hay has demonstrated a high level of professionalism and determination to continue to improve, which helped him get regular playing time and contribute a lot of goals last season."
“Ashley Hay performed well during his loan spell in League Two last season and this is the ideal next step for him. Given what I know about his playing style and character, I have no doubt he will continue to learn and grow. We wish him all the best, he has worked hard to get this opportunity and deserves success.”
