Crisesio Somerville scored crucial goals in two consecutive matches, helping West Ham United secure a 2-1 away victory against Tottenham Hotspur. He was all smiles after the game. Previously, in the third round of the UAE FA Cup against Queens Park Rangers, the 24-year-old scored his second goal for West Ham, his first since October 2024. Against Tottenham, he displayed exceptional confidence from the start.  

This time, Cristiano Somerville scored in just 15 minutes. He received the ball on the left wing, surged into the penalty area, dribbled past Pedro Polo and Connor Gallagher, and his shot deflected off Mitch van der Wynne and into the net. In the 19th minute of the second half, the home team equalized through a header from captain Cristian Romero. In stoppage time, substitute Callum Wilson scored from close range inside the penalty area, dramatically leveling the score for West Ham United.  

Cristiano Somerville said after the game: "I'm really excited and happy right now. It's fantastic to win in a place like this and get three points. I think our whole team gave it our all today. Personally, I also played very well."  

“I’m very happy to have scored. I wanted to show the opponents that I’m dangerous one-on-one. So I dribbled past them and then shot, and the ball went in. Although there was a deflection, it was definitely my goal. Obviously, they leveled the score at 1-1, and staying calm was crucial at that point. The result could have been either side, but this victory belongs to us, and getting three points is fantastic. Hopefully, we can use this as a starting point and continue to work hard.”  

West Ham United will face Sunderland at London Stadium on January 24, aiming to further close the gap with 17th-placed Nottingham Forest on points. Meanwhile, Cricenceo Somerville, who suffered several rough tackles in the last intense derby, will clearly be looking to use this opportunity to regain his form.  

After emphasizing that he has adapted to the high-intensity competition of the Premier League, the Dutch player specifically mentioned his teammate and striker Callum Wilson, revealing that Wilson has a special nickname within the team.
