Former Liverpool England international defender Jamie Carragher inducted into the 2025 One-Club Man Hall of Fame..

Liverpool announced on its official website on Friday that the club's legendary former England international defender Jamie Carragher has been inducted into the 2025 One-Club Man Hall of Fame.

According to a Liverpool's official statement, this special Hall of Fame award is presented by Athletic Bilbao, the Spanish club that has a unique tradition of not admitting players of non-Basque descent.

Carragher becomes the first former England international to be inducted into the Hall of Fame since the inaugural inductee, Southampton's legendary attacking midfielder Matt Le Tissier.

After the announcement, Carragher, speaking to Liverpool's official website again after many years, said: "I was truly honoured when Athletic Bilbao contacted me about this award."

"When you see the list of players who have been inducted over the years, including great players like Paolo Maldini and Carles Puyol, who played as a defender like me, it's a great feeling."

"Ever since I started playing for Liverpool, I've said I wanted to be a One-Club Man."

"This award, like all the individual awards I've won in the past, is the highest honour for me because it's not something everyone can achieve; it's incredibly special and meaningful. It's comforting to know that when people talk about me in the future, they will remember this unique and remarkable achievement in my history, just like those mentioned above."

"For me, as a One-Club Man, I have extra respect for other players who have had similar careers, because it's a special honour, something worth celebrating together. It's truly something I'll always be proud of, even up there with the joy I felt when I won the Champions League in 2005, which was the highest achievement of my football career."

The One-Club Man Hall of Fame is a special honour established by La Liga powerhouse Athletic Bilbao in 2015 to commemorate and honour legendary players who played for only one club during their illustrious football careers.

Since its inception, defenders such as Paolo Maldini, Carles Puyol, Billy McNeill, and Giuseppe Bergomi have been honourable inductees.

Sepp Maier, a former Bayern Munich and West Germany international player, is the only goalkeeper to have been inducted to date.

Ryan Giggs, a former Manchester United and Welsh national team legend, is the only winger inducted.
