After Athletic Bilbao qualified for next season's Champions League with a 2-0 win over Getafe, head coach Ernesto Valverde was in a jubilant mood as he celebrated the club's return to Europe's top football competition and reiterated his players' goals, stressing they must now strive for fourth place in La Liga.  

In the 75th minute of the game, Gorka Guluzeta finally broke Getafe's tenacious defense, and then Danny Vivian scored the decisive goal before the end of the game.  

After the game, Ernesto Valverde said: "This is an incredible victory for a team like ours that competes in a unique way. We realised long ago that this was a possibility, especially after taking into account our performances in European competitions against La Liga teams, the gap between us and our opponents and the improvement we have made in the rankings."
