ESPN: Paul has no intention of retiring mid-season; his future remains a mystery.

According to ESPN reporter Marc J. Spears, Chris Paul has no intention of ending his 21-year career midway through this season.

Paul, 40, originally planned to spend his final season in Los Angeles, but was released early by the Clippers. Will he retire? Mark J. Spears stated clearly during an appearance on NBA Today: "I was told absolutely not. He definitely wants to continue playing."

Regarding Paul's future, Spears believes the current situation is unclear: "I remember when I interviewed him before the season, he said that the main reason he signed with the Clippers was to be closer to his family and end his career at home. So, what should he do next? Currently, only 10 teams still have roster spots available. A general manager told me that there is indeed no place for him on the team."

"So, is it possible that he might leave Los Angeles? Will he go to an Eastern Conference team? Or even leave his family? I've heard that Chris will make a decision based on the actual situation. It may take some time for things to become clear. I think there are a few teams that were interested in him during the offseason that we should continue to monitor."

Despite being sent home in the middle of the night, Paul remains on the Clippers' roster. The Clippers cannot trade Paul before December 15, but they have the option to waive him and pay his $3.6 million salary, or negotiate a buyout with him.

Chris Paul was the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2005 NBA draft. During his career, he played for the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns, Golden State Warriors, and San Antonio Spurs. In his 21-year NBA career, he averaged 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per game, and was selected to the All-NBA Team 11 times, the All-Defensive Team 9 times, led the NBA in assists 5 times, and won the steals title 6 times.

However, Paul's second stint with the Clippers was not smooth. He played 16 regular season games for the Clippers, averaging only 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, with a field goal percentage of 32.1% and a three-point percentage of 33.3%. The Clippers finished with a record of 6 wins and 16 losses after 22 games, ranking second to last in the Western Conference.
