Fabio Cardoso, 31, joined Sevilla last week on a two-year contract, and the defender said in an interview that he would do his best to play an important role in the team.
Fabio Cardoso, originally from Portugal, spent last season on loan at Al Ain from Porto. He said, "Everyone is very friendly, we train well, and I'm in good physical shape. I leave the technical decisions to the coach. All I can do is give my all and strive to be part of the team and contribute to it at my best."
"I've been training constantly during my time at Porto. Although I haven't played in any matches, I've completed my physical training. I've been training well here too, everyone is taking good care of me and I'm doing my best."
In addition, Sevilla will host newly promoted Elche in the next round of La Liga. Almeida's team is currently ranked 12th in the standings.
Fabio Cardoso said, "The intensity and technical level here are completely different. Being able to come to La Liga is one of the best leagues in the world for me. The competition is very fierce and the level is very high, and I am very eager to start the game. I think my biggest strengths are my aggressiveness and ability to read the game. On a tactical level, I feel very comfortable and can understand the game well. Of course, I still need to continue to improve in other aspects, but these two points are my most outstanding qualities."
"I will try to be an important member and help the team, but also rely on the help of my teammates, because defense is not just the job of the defenders, it is the responsibility of the whole team. If everyone thinks in the same direction and stays in good physical condition, then our team's level will be very high. I have felt all of this in training, and I am here to help the team."
