England defender Mark Goy has officially joined Premier League giants Manchester City, signing a five-and-a-half-year contract. In an interview, Goy said he is very much looking forward to representing the "Citizens" in the Champions League and aims to adapt to his new environment as quickly as possible.
The 25-year-old Gueye previously played for Crystal Palace, contributing two goals and two assists in the 2025/26 Premier League season so far. Notably, Gueye also helped Crystal Palace win the FA Cup last season.
In an interview, Guillaume said, "The Champions League is a competition we've watched since we were kids. I wouldn't even call it a dream, because at my age, it seemed so far away."
"However, if I could play in the Champions League and in front of the Manchester fans, that would be a remarkable achievement and a huge honor. That would be fantastic."
In addition to Gue joining Manchester City, 26-year-old Semenho had earlier transferred from Bournemouth to Manchester City and scored two goals for Guardiola's team in two cup matches.
"This is an extremely experienced team. Many of the players have played at the highest level and won many honors. At the same time, there are also many promising young players joining the team," said Guillaume.
"The same goes for Semenho's arrival. He's an outstanding player who has already proven himself in the Premier League. I just want to integrate into the team as quickly as possible, do my best to help everyone and be a part of the team, and keep striving to improve myself."
In addition, Manchester City midfielder Nico O'Reilly, who also plays for England alongside Gue, said, "I'm really looking forward to it. Gue is a very good person and a top player. We can't wait to see him start playing and we'll definitely make him feel welcome."
“This is a huge boost for us, as we currently have several injured players in our defense. He is a tenacious player and a leader, which will be a great help to us. I really can’t wait to see him on the field.”
