Ipswich Town Football Club has officially confirmed the signing of midfielder Azor Matusiva from French club Rennes. The Dutch player, who grew up in the Ajax youth system, has signed a four-year contract with the club, and the specific transfer amount has not yet been announced.
The 27-year-old Azor Matusiva has continued to grow under the guidance of De Goldenzonin, and while playing for the Amsterdam club, he was loaned to De Graafschap to improve his practical ability.
In 2019, Azor Matusiva joined the Dutch Eredivisie team Groningen and played more than 50 official games. In 2021, he moved to the French Ligue 1 Reims club and played 75 league games in three years at the Auguste-Delaunay Stadium. Later, he joined Rennes, also from France, this year.
The Dutch midfielder has a great influence both in possession and without the ball. He made 29 appearances in Ligue 1 last season. Following the signing of goalkeeper David Barton and the loan arrival of Cedric Kipre, Azor Matusiwa becomes the club's third new signing this summer.
