Bournemouth Football Club officially announced that midfielder Joe Rothwell has officially joined Rangers Football Club. The two sides have reached a permanent transfer agreement. The midfielder joined the team in the summer of 2022 and has played 35 games in the Premier League so far.
Joe Rothwell has joined Southampton on loan twice. The first time was in 2024, when he played a key role in the team's return to the Premier League through the promotion play-offs. The most recent time was when he represented Leeds United and helped the team get promoted to the Premier League again.
The 30-year-old midfielder will work again with former Rangers Football Club manager Russell Martin, and the team hopes to surpass last season's runner-up result in the new Scottish Premier League season.
Russell Martin said: "It has been a pleasure working with Joe Rothwell during my time at Southampton. His leadership, professionalism and personal ability have brought great value to the team. He has helped the team to promotion twice in a row and is a player with a winning mentality."
"We are very pleased with the arrival of Joe Rothwell and look forward to him integrating into the team as soon as possible, getting familiar with the new environment, building tacit understanding with his teammates and contributing to the improvement of the overall strength of the team."
Everyone at Bournemouth Football Club wishes Joe Rothwell the best of luck in his future and would like to thank him for his service to the team.
