England captain Harry Kane says he is in the best form of his career after their 5-0 victory over Latvia secured their place in the 2026 World Cup with two rounds to go.

Coach Thomas Tuchel praised Kane for not only driving the team with his goals, but also for winning the respect of the entire team with his dedication and exemplary role modeling. This season, Kane has scored 21 goals in 13 games for club and country.

When asked in an interview with the media after the game whether he was in peak condition, Kane said: "I think I can say that the data proves everything. But more importantly, it's how I feel on the court. I am more confident than ever in reading the game, passing and running, and my physical condition is also very good."

"We made the game look easy, but the group stage is actually very difficult. It's not easy to stay focused in every game. We can qualify early, keep a clean sheet and play beautiful football, which is something to be proud of."

Tuchel also spoke highly of Kane, saying he was not only a striker but also the team's spiritual core: "Look at Eze's goal in the 85th minute. After losing the ball up front, Kane rushed all the way back to defend. As captain and center forward, he didn't need to do that, but he did it, and that's the standard he sets."

Regarding Kane's current state, Tuchel also agrees that he is at his peak: "He is one of the best strikers I have ever coached. He is in the best mental and physical condition and is full of confidence."

In the World Cup qualifiers, England won all six games and conceded no goals, qualifying for the World Cup. Tuchel concluded: "Going to the United States was our dream, and now we have achieved it through our quality. The team's morale is high, and we are on the right track."
