Liam Delap and Liam Rossene are ready to embark on the second phase of their partnership, this time at Chelsea. The two achieved success together during their time at Hull City in the 2023/24 season, with the young striker showing significant development under Rossene's management.  

During his time at East Yorkshire, Liam Delap made 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring 8 goals. He was a key striker in Liam Rossellini's system, performing admirably. The 22-year-old forward recalled their season together with great emotion, stating that he believed in Rossellini's excellent personnel management skills, combined with his dedication on the training ground, would fully unleash the potential of Chelsea's players.  

Liam Delap said: "He is an excellent coach and a very good person. I worked with him for a year and I think his philosophy, approach to the game and his style of play are a great fit for us and can really help the team. Especially for me personally, and for many of the young players he helped during his time at Hull City, his guidance has helped us make great progress and everyone is performing very well now."  

“I really admire his management style. He’s friendly, but he can also be very direct when necessary. I think that’s exactly the quality of a great coach. He’ll tell you clearly why you didn’t play and what areas you need to improve, while also acknowledging what you did well. He’s very honest, and if you can build trust with him and his coaching team, it will definitely be a big help.”  

Liam Delap's two previous loan spells in the Championship were frustrating, and he points out that the manager's candor has been crucial for Hull City. He said: "I struggled a lot in the season before working with him because the transition from the academy to the first team is very difficult."  

“Liam Rossellini was one of the key coaches who helped me adapt smoothly to my new club. I am very grateful to him, and his and the coaching staff’s support has enabled me to make significant progress. Now that we are both at Chelsea, I hope to continue to grow under his guidance.”  

Liam Delap, who scored Chelsea's first Premier League goal against Fulham last week, said he will continue to work hard and hopes to maintain his excellent performance in the second half of the season. He added: "My season started very difficult due to injuries. When I first joined the club, it was hard to find my rhythm quickly. Now I'm adjusting game by game, and I feel my form is getting better and better, and I'm also getting healthier. I hope to contribute to the team in the upcoming games."
