Liverpool manager Arne Slaughter has responded to a serious crowd incident during their trophy parade with an affectionate letter expressing his deep gratitude to all those involved in the emergency response.

The incident occurred on Water Street in the city center, where a car rammed into a crowd, injuring more than 50 people, 11 of whom are still receiving treatment. Slot, who was scheduled to attend the English Football League Managers Association (LMA) annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, chose to withdraw from the ceremony to show support for the victims.

"This is not a decision I have made lightly, but I am convinced it is the right one under the circumstances," Slaughter said in a letter to the LMA. "I stand in solidarity with all those affected by the accident that has brought harm to innocent men, women and children during what was supposed to be a joyous celebration."

"I want to pay the highest tribute to Liverpool's emergency services, law enforcement and the people of Liverpool who helped each other during this chaotic time. Everyone who stepped up at this crucial moment deserves our sincere gratitude."

The Dutch coach won the Premier League Manager of the Year and LMA Manager of the Year awards for leading Liverpool to the 20th Premier League title in the club's history in his first season in charge.

Slote said in the letter: "It is an extremely special honor to be recognized by my peers. I am humbled by this and thank my peers for their affirmation. Although football is built on competition, as we have seen in the past 24 hours, it also breeds unity and friendship. At times like this, we are not only a team, but also a city."

Finally, Slote called on everyone to pray for the injured and promised to receive the award in person in the future: "Sir Ferguson, I look forward to personally greeting you in the future, and thank the LMA and all the clubs for their support during this difficult time."
