Villarreal head coach Marcelino García Toral attended the press conference following the match against Barcelona at the Estadio de la Cerámica. He praised the players' efforts, expressed regret over Renato Vega's first-half red card, and analyzed the team's defeat.  

After the match, Marcelino said: "We played a wonderful game, and I am very proud of the team's performance against Barcelona. We created almost as many chances as they did, and forced their goalkeeper to be the man of the match. More importantly, all of this was done with one less player. We played a wonderful game with a score of 11 to 10."  

Marcelino emphasized that to defeat such a strong opponent, they must seize their opportunities. He stated, "It's not common to create so many chances against Barcelona. It's truly regrettable that they scored from the penalty. I feel more proud than disappointed, but we can learn from the red card and improve, without dwelling on what happens when it's 11 against 11."  

Speaking about Renato Vega's sending-off, Marcelino expressed his regret over the referee's decision. He said, "I watched the replay, and it looked more like a yellow card than a red card. It was indeed a fierce tackle, but his foot was on the ground. Yesterday I saw some even fiercer tackles, but no player was sent off."  

Finally, Marcelino reflected on the 2025 performance and said: "This year has been extraordinary. Of course, there is still room for improvement. But we must remember that two years ago we only got 13 points in 12 games, while this year we have 75 points, second only to Real Madrid and Barcelona, which is remarkable."
