Matt Doherty stated that the entire Wolves squad shares the tactical vision of new manager Rob Edwards, and that there are still many positive goals achievable this season. The Irish player recalled playing twice for Edwards during Edwards' interim managerial tenure in 2016, being impressed by the creative coach and always believing he would eventually become the club's permanent manager.  

In the match against Crystal Palace, Matt Doherty, as one of the core members of the dressing room, took on the responsibility of supporting the manager and ensuring that the whole team worked in a unified direction, because he understood the coach's philosophy better than most people.  

Matt Doherty said: "I am genuinely happy for him. Personally, I know Rob Edwards very well. I think this is a dream position for him, especially considering his previous experience at Middlesbrough. It means a lot to him and fully demonstrates his strong desire to join this club. Obviously, he is passionate about the club. He has performed exceptionally well, and I believe this is also a good thing for the club."
