Morgan Rodgers says the team's confidence and cohesion have noticeably improved after Aston Villa extended their winning streak to double digits. The player scored two goals to help Villa defeat Manchester United 2-1 at Villa Park, achieving their seventh consecutive Premier League win and tenth consecutive win across all competitions. Rodgers stated that this was the most confident atmosphere in the dressing room since he joined the club in February 2024.  

After the match, Morgan Rodgers said, "The most important thing is that we didn't play our best today, but we still found a way to win. The team showed determination, held our defense, and ultimately scored the winning goal. I think this reflects the qualities of a great team and shows our inner belief. There are many ways to win, and this way was excellent. I'm currently in my best form, and the team is also very confident."  

“Since I joined the team, the team’s confidence has reached an unprecedented level. When the team performs well as a whole, individual performances also improve, which is a natural result. We trust each other, and the coach has full confidence in us, so we feel like we can win every game when we go out there to play.”  

His two goals against Manchester United, along with two goals against West Ham United last weekend, made him the first Aston Villa player since Dion Dublin in November 1998 to score two or more goals in each of two consecutive top-flight league matches.  

Morgan Rodgers contributed 14 goals and 15 assists last season, but he believes he has performed even better this season. He said, "I am very happy and confident. The team is in incredible form, and we feel capable of beating any opponent. It feels great to be in the locker room right now."  

“I’ve always hoped to improve in the new season compared to last season and to continuously improve myself. Last season I performed reasonably well, but my form dipped towards the end of the season. This year I hoped for a good start, and although I didn’t get there at the beginning, I’m happy that I’m in good form right now.”
