Napoli bought out Loluca and loaned him to Nottingham Forest; the contract included a buy-out clause.

Napoli have officially announced that they have activated the €26 million buy-out clause for Udinese striker Lorenzo Luca. They subsequently loaned Luca to Nottingham Forest for half a season.
Nottingham Forest added that Luca will wear the number 20 jersey during his loan spell. His loan fee is €1 million, with a non-mandatory buy-out clause of €40 million.
Luca, 25, is an Italian center forward standing 2.01 meters tall and weighing 80 kilograms. During his career, he played for several teams, including Vicenza, Palermo, Pisa, Ajax, and Udinese. In his two seasons with Udinese, he made 75 appearances, contributing 23 goals and 6 assists, and his outstanding performance attracted the attention of Napoli.
In July 2025, Napoli signed Luca on loan for €9 million. However, Luca's subsequent performance has greatly disappointed Napoli: he has made 23 appearances for Napoli so far, but has only scored 2 goals.
Despite this, Nottingham Forest still has high hopes for Luca. After the signing was completed, Forest's global football director, Edu Gaspar, said: "Lorenzo is a player who can bring a unique advantage to the team, and we are very pleased with his arrival. His experience playing in top leagues in several countries gives him both rich experience and continued potential."
