Nuno Tavares officially joins Lazio Football Club. The 25-year-old Portuguese defender has played 28 official games since he moved from Benfica to Arsenal in July 2021. His first goal came in the team's 3-1 victory over Manchester United in 2022.  

Born in Lisbon, Nuno Tavares entered the Benfica youth training system in 2015 and spent six years in the club. He quickly showed his strength after being promoted to the first team, and in August 2019, he helped the team beat Sporting Lisbon 5-0 in the Portuguese Super Cup. At the age of 19, he won the trophy with the team.  

After the end of his first season at Arsenal, the attacking full-back was loaned to Marseille, Nottingham Forest and Lazio. In the 2022-23 season, Nuno Tavares played 39 times for Marseille in all competitions, contributed 6 goals, and helped the team successfully win the third place in the French Ligue 1.  

In the following season, Nuno Tavares was loaned to Nottingham Forest, where he played a total of 12 times in the Premier League and FA Cup. In the 2024-25 season, he was loaned to Lazio, during which he participated in 30 games in all competitions and contributed 9 assists, 8 of which came in the first 10 league games.  

Nuno Tavares finally made his first appearance for the Portugal national team during his loan at Lazio. In the UEFA Nations League in November 2024, he came off the bench to help Portugal beat Poland 5-1.
