Riyadh Victory coach Pioli officially announced his resignation and is expected to return to coach Fiorentina

Al-Qahri announced on Wednesday that it has parted ways with head coach Stefano Pioli. As for Pioli's successor, it is widely predicted that it will be former Al-Qahri head coach Jorge Jesus.
The 59-year-old Pioli has coached many Italian teams including Salernitana, Modena, Parma, Grosseto, Piacenza, Sassuolo, Chievo, Palermo, Bologna, Lazio, Inter Milan, Fiorentina, AC Milan, etc. During this period, he led the team to win the 2021/22 Serie A championship. He was officially hired as the first-team coach by Riyadh Victory in September last year, and the two sides signed a contract until 2026.
However, Pioli failed to replicate his past success in Riyadh. Despite having a number of stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, John Durán, Sadio Mané, Aymeric Laporte, etc., Pioli's Riyadh Crescent only ranked third in the Saudi League last season, 13 points behind the leader Jeddah United. They also performed poorly in the Asian Champions League, and eventually lost to Kawasaki Frontale in the semi-finals.
Various signs indicate that Pioli will return to Fiorentina to coach after leaving Saudi Arabia. He served as Fiorentina coach from 2017 to 2019, with a total record of 27 wins, 25 draws and 22 losses.
