Romelle Donovan has signed a five-year contract with Brentford FC, with the club having the option to extend for a further year. The player originally joined Brentford B on loan in February 2025, but has now joined the first team permanently.  

The midfielder made 15 appearances for Brentford's young team in the second half of the season, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists. It is expected that Romelle Donovan will be promoted to Thomas Frank's first team before the start of the 2025-26 season .  

Phil Giles, director of football, said: “When Romelle Donovan joined on loan in January, we felt he had great talent and potential. Frankly, his performance during his time with the team has far exceeded our expectations. He has performed well in the B team and has worked hard in training, and has successfully earned a place in the first team next season.”

Before joining Brentford B, Romelle Donovan spent half a season on loan at English League One club Burton Albion. The promising young player made 10 appearances for Birmingham in the League Cup and FA Cup in the 2023-24 season, and also represented England in the Under-18 and Under-19 national team competitions.
